Dr. Forrest is the District Health Officer for the West Valley-Mission Community College District. Dr. Forrest has been an Educational Administrator at West Valley Mission Community College District College since 2015.
Dr. Forrest Was a faculty member at Rio Hondo College from 2005 until 2015. Dr. Forrest was a faculty member of the Charles R. Drew School of Medicine from 1984 until 2005. During Dr. Forrest’s tenure on the medical faculty, he served on numerous faculty committees and faculty task force committees.
Dr. Forrest served as the Charles R. Drew OB/GYN Residency Program Coordinator from 1990 to 1995. Dr. Forrest was as an Instructor of OB/GYN from 1984 to 1989 and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science from 1989 to 2005. Dr. Forrest served as an Assistant Professor of OB/GYN from 1992 to 1999 and Adjunct Associate Professor of OB/GYN from 1999 to 2005 at the David Geffen School of Medicine at U.C.L.A.
Dr. Forrest has been an invited speaker to numerous local, state, and national organizations providing presentations on Risk Management, Performance Improvement, Medical Ethics, Informed Consent, and Medical Documentation. In 1996, Dr. Forrest was a physician educational consultant for the United States Agency for International Development for an advanced training course for visiting Egyptian physicians provided by the Charles R. Drew University.
Dr. Forrest has also held various positions as Medical Director; Associate Medical; Director; Medical Consultant for Risk Management and Case Review; and Chairman of multiple countywide and regional committees. Dr. Forrest’s professional experience also includes past medical staff affiliations with Huntington Memorial Hospital, Saint Francis Medical Center, and San Gabriel Valley Medical Center where he pursued his own private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Forrest received his medical degree and his law degree from the University of Southern California. Dr. Forrest received his certificates in Business Administration from National Public Health and Hospital Institute Medical Director’s Program in 1999 at New York University, New York, New York and the Physician Management Training Program in 1996 at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, Los Angeles, California. Dr. Forrest attended Pomona College in Claremont, California.
Dr. Forrest is Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Royal Society of Medicine, and the Los Angeles Obstetrics and Gynecology Society. Dr. Forrest is a past member of the National Medical Association, 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, and the Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
