Amelia was born in Iowa and raised on the family farm. Growing up in a very rural area, she loved the wide open spaces, connection to the natural environment, and rural cultural traditions.
She moved to the city and entered the university with a dream of learning other languages and meeting people from other cultures.
She speaks Spanish and has also studied French, Portuguese, Italian, and Vietnamese. Traveling is her favorite activity. She spends a month in Spain every summer with friends and family.
Amelia also loves science fiction movies, and her favorite music is salsa/merengue, Spanish rock/rumba, and country & bluegrass.
