Kaitlin Ferguson began her coaching career in 2006, working with athletes in a variety of age groups. She joined Mission College as a full-time kinesiology faculty member in August 2018. She took over the recruiting and coaching of the Saints Vollyeball Program in Spring 2019. As a certified fitness professional, she is looking forward to training young athletes as well as developing an meaningful experience for them
She was previously with Santa Rosa Junior College's volleyball program as an assistant for two years before taking over head coaching duties from from 2013 to 2017. As a head coach Ferguson led SRJC to four regional appearances in five years, compiling a record of 71-61.
As an assistant, SRJC reached the state final four both years (2011-2012), won the Big 8 twice (2011-12), fell in the state championship game 3-2 to LA Pierce College in 2011 and the State Semifinals in 2012. They were 53-7-1 in those two years.
As an athlete, Ferguson was a multi-year all-state setter, team captain and MVP for the Santa Rosa Junior College and for the UC Santa Barbara club volleyball team, finishing third at Nationals her junior year.
She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's in Communication and Sports Management. She also earned four other degrees, including two associate degrees from Santa Rosa Junior College in Fitness, Nutrition, Health and Kinesiology, a Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University (Irvine) and Master's in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University. Ferguson is now a doctoral candidate of Health and Human Performance at Concordia University (Chicago).
