Priority Registration Groups

In accordance with new state and local regulations, students will be assigned registration dates in the following order. You may register from your start date through the end of the Add/Drop period.

Important Information

Priority registration is assigned to students that have completed all of the 3SP mandates.  You only have to complete the steps once.  To receive priority registration for Winter/Spring all steps must be completed by the third (3rd) Thursday of October; to receive priority registration for Summer/Fall all steps must be completed by the third (3rd) Thursday in March. 

Group 1

State mandated groups. EOPS/CARE, CalWORKs, Veterans, Foster Youth, Homeless, DSPS students who have

  • Completed orientation, assessment and an educational plan
  • Selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate 
Group 2

Continuing Athletes, ASG, Honors, MESA, TRiO, Puente, Umoja, Middle Early College High School, International, Middle College, Advantage/Mission and Grandfathered groups who have

  • Completed orientation, assessment and an educational plan
  • Selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate
  • Declared a major and have not been on probation for two consecutive terms

Group 3

New and returning students who have

  • Completed orientation, assessment and an educational plan
  • Selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate
  • Declared a major and have not been on probation for two consecutive terms 
Group 4

  • Completed assessment, orientation and an educational plan
  • Selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate
  • Declared a major 
Group 5

Continuing Athletes, ASG, Honors, MESA, TRiO, Puente, MECHS, International, Middle College, Advantage/Mission and Grandfathered groups who have

  • NOT Completed orientation, assessment and an educational plan
  • Selected an educational goal of transfer, degree or certificate 
Group 6

New and returning students without 3SP requirements

Group 7

Higher degree students, students with 100+ degree applicable units,  Probation students

Group 8

All high school students based on their year in school with seniors going one day, followed by juniors and then sophomores on successive days.
