Celebration of Kwanzaa

Every December, the Humanities 018 course (led by Dr. David Piper pictured above) , celebrates Kwanzaa with the Mission College and West Valley College community. Created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga of Cal State Long Beach, the Professor and Chairman of Black Studies combined aspects of several different harvest celebrations to form the basis of the holiday.
