Free eGift Cards to Buy Food

REQUEST ASSISTANCE FORM

The Food Assistance team coordinates bi- weekly distributions of FREE eGift cards to Walmart.  To be eligible, Mission students must be enrolled in at least three units during the Spring 2022 semester and complete the Food Request Form each week by the given deadline. 

Students who qualify will receive:

  • $60.00 Walmart eGift cards
    OR a different increment amount based on availability (example: $50, or $40 Walmart eGift cards)
    • Please note that the form opens on a Monday at 8 a.m and closes on Friday at 12 p.m. (noon).
    • Consult the schedule below for the week in which the application form is open. For example, if the submission due date is September 17th, that means the form will be open on Monday September 13th at 8 and closes on September 17th at 12. Distribution of gift cards by email happens the following Wednesday.
  • Due to the limited amount of funding, distribution will be on a first come, first serve basis. Distribution dates are subject to change based on the needs of the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the Food Request Form due?

A: Please refer to the deadline schedule chart above. Deadline to submit is 12:00 pm on each Friday listed. 


Q: When will I receive my eGift cards?

A: Please refer to the distribution schedule chart above. Students who qualify will receive their eGift the date specified for the corresponding week.


Q: How many units do I need to be registered for?

A: You have to be registered for at least 3 units in the current semester that this program is offered at Mission College.


Q: Will I qualify for this progam if my classes I am taking is for West Valley College?

A: Unfortunately, no. This program is for Mission College students only. Meaning, you need to be registered for classes at Mission to qualify.


Q: How long does the program last?

A: The Food Assistance Summer Program will last through the end of the Summer 2021 semester. The college will determine whether to continue the program  based on funding. 


Q: Can I request additional e-gift cards?

A: Unfortunately, no, but you may re-apply for future distributions.
