Our Call to Action

Community Engagement:  Creating meaningful, humanizing spaces for open dialogue and healing for our students, staff, faculty, and administrators.

Social Justice: Understanding and dismantling structures that perpetuate injustice and inequity.

Transparency:  Interrogate our practices (curriculum and student service), policies (State and local), and praxis (critically informed action), informed through compassion and student voice.

Cultural Humility:  To put ourselves in the shoes of our African American brothers and sisters to widen our world view and to practice more empathy.

Core – Self Love:  As a college and as individuals, we must critically self-reflect and leverage this moment to recognize our own biases as well as the privileges and entitlements we possess.

We must educate ourselves to begin the difficult conversations with family, friends, and colleagues to heal, take actions, and begin the transformation required to dismantle systems of racism and oppression.
