Equity Talks
Kindling Equitable Notions talks and Equity Walks (K.E.N.E.W) is a committee of the office of Student Equity and Success. Our focus is inculcating and spreading equitable ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful “talks” (30 minutes or less). K.E.N. talks began in 2018 as an idea presented by professors Rebecca Tran and Thuy Trang, Counseling Faculty at Mission College, Santa Clara, California.
They felt that professionals in the college community had equitable notions that could contribute to the Equity themes of Value, Trust, Justice, and Fairness. And therein lies the development of our mission statement: Our mission is to inculcate and spread equitable ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful “talks” (30 minutes or less).
The committee’s objective is to bring together some of the college's best movers, shakers, thinkers, and contributors to the Equity Framework.
