VTA Job Opportunities

A joint program between the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA,) the ATU Local 265, and Mission College is using apprenticeships to help recruit and retain well-qualified transit workers to fill VTA job opportunities.

The VTA training program offers a Certificate of Achievement in Transportation as a Coach Operator, Overhead Line Worker, Public Transit Leadership, Service Mechanic, or Track Worker. We are the first community college in the country to offer this type of program.

VTA Jobs - Training 

Mission College transportation students practice a simulator that allows bus operators in training to see what is in front of and behind them. This aides in judgment and decision making, and ultimately allows students to take control of situations with the penalty of real-world obstacles. In addition, the VTA simulator can mimic weather patterns and mechanical failures.
